Hp Colorlaserjet 2605dn-is Printer Dead?

I was unable to print to this printer via usb cable(standalone install) from a Windows XP pc.Usb cable is good and attached properly at both ends.Driver is correct.Uninstalled/reinstalled printer.When sending job it looks like it went but nothing prints.Solid GREEN and solid RED light on printer.Unable to print a SELF TEST page from any menu on CONTROL PANEL.Is the printer dead or can anything be tried to resolve? Thanks in advance

You say that no test print can be printed. Did you try turning the printer off, disconnecting the power cable for about a minute, then plug the cable back in and power on? If that doesn't help, turn the power off, press and hold both the arrow keys while turning the power on. Continue to press the keys until the display indicates an intialization process is starting. You will need to press the 'check' key (the middle one) whenever a question is asked. Hopefully, this will get the printer working for you again. If not, a replacement Formatter board (the one the USB and Ethernet cables connect to) will need to be purchased (refurbished: about $80, new: about $250).
