Sleep Mode

Ok Here We Go Again,4620 Won T Come Off Sleep Mode. With Out Unpluging. not Happy With This Printer It Is Out Of Warranty Bummer.

Hi. Possible causes

1. Static IP address not set

It may sound strange, but set a static IP address for the printer as outlined in step six of this document.

What may be happening is that the printer stops communicating with the router using DHCP (automatic IP) settings, so it thinks it is not connected to anything useful and enters a power save mode to avoid wasting energy. Setting a static IP address tells the printer to not use DHCP and that it will always have the proper network information to prevent it from ever entering power save mode.

2. Firmware update (the current firmware version may have connectivity bugs corrected on nerwer versions)

3. The network modem - One experienced a permanent fix to this issue after having been forced to purchase a new modem by relocation.
