Floods Out

Use distilled water ran 2 nights ok then started to leave water droplets on the outer ring until they run back on the metal center. Then that's it it's flooded out and won't mist until you daub the water out with cotton swab. Runs maybe a minute or so if lucky then it stops. Changed filter cleaned per instructions that didn't help. I even lowered water level but didn't work either. Am I stuck with a lemon?
