Why Is My Main Unit Not Displaying The Wind Speed And Direction

It has been working fine for about a year now.  I changed the batteries in the wind sensor and it still is not displaying the wind speed and wind direction.  It doesnt make any sense that it would just quite working.

After replacing batteries one must have the sensor near the main station and depress the <set> button on the main unit and HOLD it until the sensor's display indicates digits. The hold period may be lengthy.
