You should reset your password. Reset your password here. Click the "Forgot Password" radio button and then click the "Reset your Password" link underneath. It will provide you with options depending on how you setup your account. It will list secret answer, alternate email address (if you setup your account with an alternate email address) and/or mobile number (if you setup your account with a mobile number).

If you cannot change password via conventional methods (ie - through security answer or alternate email address), it first needs to be verified. You can initiate the process of recovering your hotmail account here:

When you get your account verified and change the password, it should be changed to at least 7 characters, contain upper and lower case letters, numbers, and a special character.
