Hotmail Account Login Issue

Hello, I am not able to loging to my hotmail account. It said too many login attempts and given screen to enter password and enter some "alphabetic characters". When I enter all characters , every time it is saying that characters are not matched. Reset password or forgot password screen is doing same thing . Character not matched error and I cannot go ahead. But I am sure , I am entering correct characters...so do not understand how to get password reset and open hotmail account for email. Any help will be appreciated.

After several unsuccessful sign in attempts, Windows Live ID automatically sets a "locked out" period. This prevents access to your account, even when the correct password is supplied for security reasons. In order to regain access to your account, please validate your account ownership by visiting the link below:
