Hotmail Reports Me As Spamming Their Servers

I manage an opt-in mailing list for a company in the UK. We take every step to comply with anti-spam laws and every address in our list was subscribed by the customer via our website. Our mails are sent out approx 1-2 times per month. Recently our server host 1&1 in the UK started to receive automated alerts from Microsoft that our server is sending unsolicited mails to Hotmail. They are threatening to disconnect our server each time, even though I have verified with them that we are acting legally and with due diligence. How can I work together with Hotmail to resolve this problem?
