I Need Help To Deactivating My Account. Hackers Got Into My Computer.

Someone hacked into my computer. My hotmail was hacked. They sent a suspicious email to my workplace saying I demanded money claming they were me. Unfortuantley they changed my password and I can't get in. Keri Konakanchi

I would contact hotmail and let them know what is going on and see if you can reset your password. You should still have security answers and be able to reset your password. If you reset your password it should be okay and there shouldn't be any way for them to get back in. You might also want to take your computer in to get looked at to see if there are any viruses on it because there could be a keystroke monitor on your computer and that could be how they got into your e-mail.

NOTE...

Something to remember...Your account may NOT be compromised. It's very easy to spoof the sender address of an email. It's possible that your email address was plucked off the Internet and a spammer is using it as a spoofed source for bulk email. I'd be concerned about the password not working but you can work though that. Once in your account check the sent mail folder. If you see email you did not send then take extra steps to secure the account. If NOT, then your address was likely spoofed. I've had mine plucked off of discussion forums before. When that happens I get a ton of bounce-backs from mail servers that got spammed with my address as the return address. It happens all the time but it does not mean my account was hacked.
