  1. Locate the drive belt tensioning system: On most zero turn mowers, the drive belt tensioning system is located near the drive belt and pulleys. It is designed to apply tension to the drive belt to maintain proper operation.
  2. Identify the drive belt spring: Look for a coiled spring that is part of the drive belt tensioning system. It is usually positioned to provide tension on the drive belt.
  3. Examine the mounting points: Check for mounting points or brackets on the mower frame or engine that are designed to hold the drive belt spring. The specific location may vary depending on the mower model.
  4. Attach the drive belt spring: Once you have located the mounting points, position the drive belt spring in such a way that it provides tension on the drive belt. Attach one end of the spring to one mounting point and the other end to the opposite mounting point.
  5. Adjust the tension: After attaching the drive belt spring, ensure that it applies the appropriate amount of tension to the drive belt. The tension should be sufficient to prevent slipping but not excessively tight, as it can cause premature wear.
