Experiencing a red hybrid warning light and a sudden drop in speed with your 2023 Tucson hybrid can indeed be alarming and dangerous. Since the Hyundai garage found no fault report, it suggests the issue might be intermittent or not easily detected by the standard diagnostic tools. Here are some steps you can take to address this problem:

1. Document the Issue

Keep a Log: Record when the warning lights appear, the driving conditions at the time (speed, weather, type of road), and any other symptoms. This information can help technicians diagnose the problem.

Note Error Codes: If the light appears again, see if you can get the error code before it disappears. Some advanced OBD-II scanners can store intermittent codes even if the light goes off.

2. Seek a Second Opinion

Different Dealership: Take your car to another Hyundai dealership or a certified hybrid vehicle specialist. Sometimes a fresh perspective or different diagnostic tools can identify issues missed previously.

Independent Mechanic: Consider visiting an independent mechanic with experience in hybrid vehicles.

3. Check for Software Updates

Firmware/Software Update: Ensure your vehicle's software is up to date. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates to address bugs or issues in the vehicle's management system.

Service Bulletins: Ask the dealership to check for any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) related to your issue. TSBs are issued by manufacturers to address known problems.

4. Inspect Specific Components

Battery and Connections: Have the hybrid battery and its connections inspected. Loose or corroded connections can cause intermittent issues.

Hybrid Management System: Ask for a thorough check of the hybrid management system, including sensors and control units.

5. Monitor Driving Conditions

Avoid Extremes: Notice if the issue occurs under specific conditions (e.g., high temperatures, heavy loads, high speeds). Avoiding these conditions may prevent the problem temporarily.

Driving Habits: Sometimes driving habits can influence hybrid system performance. Smooth acceleration and braking can reduce strain on the system.
