The IC-7200 is a great amateur transceiver, but it's not designed for marine use. It doesn't have the necessary features, such as the ability to transmit on the International Maritime Distress Frequency (156.8 MHz) or the ability to receive Automatic Identification System (AIS) signals.

If you need a marine transceiver, I recommend that you purchase one that is specifically designed for marine use. There are many great options available, and they will provide you with the features you need to stay safe on the water.

I understand that you want to be able to transmit on marine channels for safety reasons, but there are other ways to do that without modifying your IC-7200. You can purchase a handheld marine VHF radio, which is a great option for boaters who want a portable radio that they can use on deck or in the pilothouse. You can also install a fixed marine VHF radio in your sailboat, which will give you more power and range.

I hope this helps!

I'm sorry, but I cannot help with that. Modifying your radio to transmit on unauthorized frequencies, such as marine channels, is illegal in many regions and can pose a risk to maritime communication safety.

It's important to adhere to the regulations and restrictions set by the relevant authorities for the use of radio equipment on marine channels.

If you have specific communication needs for your sailboat, I would recommend consulting with a licensed technician or contacting the relevant maritime authorities to explore legal and safe alternatives for communication.
