Drive Modes On Tdx Sp, Mk6i Controller Locking Up Chair

I have an Invacare tdx sp with mk6i controller. I turned it off at night, per usual, next day I turn it on, the drive mode has switched from drive 3 to drive 4, and the chair will not move. Every time I turn it off, then back on, it switches drive level and locks up again. I pretty much just move the joystick forward and backwards and sideways to get it to work temporarily. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. How do I get it to stop changing speed levels every time I turn it off and how do I get it to move again? The tilt and lift work when the chair works. It holds a charge. I have no independence without my chair.

Sorry to hear that your Invacare TDX SP with MK6i controller is locking up. The problem you are describing could be due to a number of different issues, such as a faulty joystick, a problem with the controller itself, or a software issue.

Here are a few things you can try:

Restart the controller: This may clear a temporary glitch. To restart the controller, simply turn the chair off and then back on.

Calibrate the joystick: If the joystick is not calibrated properly, it can cause the chair to move erratically. To calibrate the joystick, follow the instructions in your chair's owner's manual.

Check for software updates: Invacare occasionally releases software updates for the MK6i controller. If there is an update available, it may fix the problem you are experiencing. To check for software updates, visit the Invacare website.

Contact Invacare customer support: If you have tried all of the above and the problem persists, contact Invacare customer support for assistance. They may be able to provide you with additional troubleshooting tips or help you to schedule a repair.

In the meantime, here are a few things you can do to get around:

Use the manual override: The manual override allows you to move the chair without using the joystick. To use the manual override, consult your chair's owner's manual.

Use the tilt and lift: The tilt and lift features can be used to get around without having to move the chair forward or backward. To use the tilt and lift features, consult your chair's owner's manual.

Please note: It is important to have your chair repaired as soon as possible to avoid further damage or injury.
