Subwoofer

I have a JVC surround sound system hooked up to this receiver and one of the speaker and my subwoofer are nto working properly. No sound through the speaker but my main concern is the subwoofer which keeps blowing fuses. Can I replace this subwoofer with another? I called JVC and they gave me a place to fix it but its far away and it costs $60.00 just to look at it...I would rather just buy another one buet I do like the sound with this system. Please help.
