What Happens To Vehicle After Running Out Of Gas?

The most common causes that hinders normal starting operation of your Grand Cherokee are dead key fob battery, dead 12v battery, corrosion on battery terminals, bad alternator, clogged fuel filter, broken starter, blown fuse, empty gas tank, immobilizer error or any fault in the electrical system. 1. Weak Battery

Sometimes if a vehicle run out of gas it can get air in the fuel line. Anytime a vehicle run out of fuel and more fuel is added, the key should be turned to the 'On' position then back to the 'Off' position three or four times to prime the fuel pump. Priming the fuel pump will remove any air that may have gotten into the lines as a result of the vehicle running out of fuel. If priming the fuel pump does not start the vehicle, I will recommend having a fuel system inspection performed by a qualified technician.
