There are a few reasons why the fan on your JennAir cooktop might cut off when you turn the grill side on. Here are some of the most common reasons:

The fan thermostat is faulty. The fan thermostat is a sensor that detects the temperature of the cooktop. If the thermostat is faulty, it may not detect the heat from the grill and will not turn on the fan.

The fan motor is faulty. The fan motor is the component that turns the fan. If the fan motor is faulty, it will not be able to turn the fan on.

There is a problem with the wiring. The wiring that connects the fan to the thermostat and the motor may be damaged or corroded. This can prevent the fan from turning on.

If you have checked all of these possibilities and the fan on your JennAir cooktop is still cutting off when you turn the grill side on, you may need to contact a qualified technician for help.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the fan thermostat. The fan thermostat is located under the cooktop. To check the fan thermostat, you will need to remove the cooktop. The fan thermostat is a small, round sensor. If the thermostat is damaged or corroded, it will need to be replaced.

Check the fan motor. The fan motor is located under the cooktop. To check the fan motor, you will need to remove the cooktop. The fan motor is a small, round motor. If the motor is damaged or corroded, it will need to be replaced.

Check the wiring. The wiring that connects the fan to the thermostat and the motor is located under the cooktop. To check the wiring, you will need to remove the cooktop. The wiring should be free of damage and corrosion. If the wiring is damaged or corroded, it will need to be repaired or replaced.

Contact a technician. If you have checked all of these possibilities and the fan on your JennAir cooktop is still cutting off when you turn the grill side on, you may need to contact a qualified technician for help.
