Phone Includes Game Demos But Doesn't Support Games?

The phone comes with game demos on it, which I'm able to play fine. But when I've tried to buy the full version of the game or another game I get an error message that says I don't have enough airtime minutes. I've called it in to my carrier and I'm told the phone doesn't support games. This doesn't make any sense to me. How and Why have demos that are playable if it doesn't support games?
