Serial Connection To Eds16ps

I'm unable to connect to the Lantronix EDS16PS using putty's serial session as my computer doesn't show the server as a com port. I have the server's network port connected to my laptop's ethernet port. Also, I have line 13 connected to my device that is based on TTL logic so I have a proper serial - TTL converter. I can telnet into it and since it is by default at 9600 baud and my device is at 115200 baud rate so I'm getting garbage value. If I could connect using serial connection on putty then I can select a different baud rate.Any help is appreciated. Thanks,Naved
