in leappad connect go to 'on this leappad' (bottom left, below tabs for leappad home / app center etc), at the top of the list should be a tab for 'manage my stuff' with an 'add music' button - click on this, then the add mucic button top right of new dialog box, and away you go.

 

only took me 45mins to figure this out - thanks for the great UI leappad

itunes saves files as aac files. Google the instructions for how to convert aac files to mp3 files within itunes. Once you've done that - the files will tranfer over to the leappad2.
