Why Does My Leappad 3 Keep Connecting And Disconnecting

Why does my leappad 3 keep connecting and disconnecting from the software (on windows 10) and I can do anything because it says to connect it to the PC I think for a update and I can't turn it on but it keep connecting and disconnecting from the PC so it can update it
