Dead Arm

gate in question left open this last winter its a elite miracle one single armwhen trying to close arm would click but not even an attempt to move tried closing gate to try in closed position gate was very tuff felt like arm was locked but it was disengaged....I took wd40 to it gate went back to opening and closing freely....ok closed gate engaged key pushed remote same thing arm clicks and no movement....I checked fuses there ok power and batteries ok limets ok...do you think arm motor got so stressed it just died...is that possible even though no fuses were blown....when I go there I want to take 24 volts dc to arm directly.......question is if arm moves what should I check next
