If your Mackie SRM350v2 speaker lid doesn't come on and instead makes a zapping noise when you turn on the power, it indicates a potential electrical issue. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Disconnect the power: Unplug the speaker from the power source to ensure your safety.

Check the power source: Make sure the power outlet or power strip you are using is functioning correctly. Try plugging in another device to confirm if the power source is working as expected.

Examine the power cable: Inspect the power cable for any visible damage, such as cuts or frayed wires. If you notice any issues, replace the power cable with a new one that matches the required specifications for the speaker.

Reset the speaker: Some electrical issues can be resolved by resetting the speaker. Locate the power switch or button on the speaker and turn it off. Leave it off for a few minutes, then turn it back on and check if the problem persists.

Internal component inspection: If the issue persists, it might indicate a more significant internal problem with the speaker. In this case, it's recommended to contact Mackie's customer support or bring the speaker to an authorized service center for professional inspection and repair.

Note: It's important to avoid opening the speaker or attempting any repairs yourself unless you have the necessary expertise. Opening the speaker can be dangerous and may void any existing warranty. Always consult the manufacturer or an authorized technician for assistance with internal issues.
