It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your Magic Chef HMCF7W4 freezer. The lid switch or lever is usually located near the hinge of the lid. It's designed to turn off the light when the lid is closed to save energy. If the light is turning off prematurely, it could be due to a faulty switch or a misalignment issue. You may need to inspect the area around the lid hinge for any obstructions or loose parts. If the problem persists, consider contacting Magic Chef customer support or a technician for assistance.

The internal light switch on the Magic Chef HMCF7W4 refrigerator is located on the top of the refrigerator, near the hinge of the door. It is a small, black switch that is about 1 inch long. To adjust the switch, you will need to use a small screwdriver.

To find the switch, open the refrigerator door and look for a small, black switch on the top of the door, near the hinge. The switch may be labeled "Light Switch" or "Door Switch."

Once you have found the switch, use a small screwdriver to turn it clockwise. This will increase the sensitivity of the switch, so that the light will stay on for longer. Turn the switch counterclockwise to decrease the sensitivity of the switch, so that the light will turn off sooner.

If you have turned the switch all the way clockwise and the light is still turning off, then the switch may be defective. In this case, you will need to replace the switch.

Here are the steps on how to replace the internal light switch on the Magic Chef HMCF7W4 refrigerator:

Unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet.

Remove the screws that hold the top of the refrigerator in place.

Lift the top of the refrigerator off of the refrigerator.

Locate the internal light switch.

Remove the screws that hold the switch in place.

Disconnect the wires from the switch.

Install the new switch.

Connect the wires to the new switch.

Secure the switch in place with the screws.

Replace the top of the refrigerator.

Plug the refrigerator back into the power outlet.

Once you have replaced the switch, the light should stay on for the desired amount of time.

Here are some additional tips for replacing the internal light switch on the Magic Chef HMCF7W4 refrigerator:

Make sure that the refrigerator is unplugged from the power outlet before you start working on it.

Be careful not to damage the wires when you are disconnecting them from the old switch.

Make sure that the new switch is compatible with your refrigerator.

Follow the instructions that come with the new switch carefully.

I hope this helps!
