Depending on where you are - the answers will vary. In the USA it seems to be good - I've been using mine for just under a year and with the one exception (so far) of a week where I couldn't call certain numbers (some local, some long distance) - without getting someone in either Sweden, Germany or Japan on the other end - it has been good.

I will give you these hints or tips:

I use cable dsl (faster than our phone company hi speed)
I have 3 computers running from one connection through a router - so there is significant draw much of the time as they are always on.
I use a desktop email client that checks 10 email accounts at a time - every hour - so - if a call comes in or is going out during the time when that program runs its 'check' - I get broken sound coming in. (Not going out really.) I simply just pause the email check while I'm on the phone and its fine.
There may be times when, if the internet in your area is extremely busy - you may have broken sound anyway - but thats a rare occurance.
During thunderstorms you'll have no phone - because you should shut down and unplug during electrical storms - even though we've NOT done that a few times when storms came up unexpectedly - and lost power on many of those times - the Magic Jack still works fine.

Hope this helps. There are a couple of drawbacks, at least for me - one - I live in an area that I can't choose my own local 'prefix' (can choose the area code, but not prefix for my town) as it is not supported; two - there's not a phone line you can call for customer support - you have to use their live chat - and sometimes - quite honestly, you know you're talking to someone in another country who doesn't really understand your problem, not always - most of the time it is good - but just thought I'd let you know!
