Just an addendum to what has already been noted.

HughesNet is a satelite provider.

Satelite Internet is NOT recommended for any sort of VOIP communications due to the inherent lag in the satelite signal.

MagicJack is not suitable for use over HughesNet, Wildblue, Dish, or any other satelite Internet service.

Voice quality, and service reliability are not guaranteed.

Your device may not work properly, or at all

if you're not logged on to your Windows user account,
if it's not running,
if it's not secured in the USB port,
if the phone cord is not secured or is broken,
if you're not connected to the Internet,
or if your magicJack device is defective.

If the device is not defective, simple actions may resolve the problem, as outlined here. Or you may try these instructions.

If the device is defective, you need to return it. If you bought it from magicJack, follow the instructions at http://my.magicjack.com/returns.html.

If it's too late to return the device, you can seek a resolution with your credit card company or with the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, at 850-488-2221.
