Calling A Magic Jack Number

Each time I try to call a majic jack number 240-880-8908, it says my carrier has improperly routed my call as a local number instead of a long-distance number. I'm calling from my cell phone so it shouldn't matter but I keep getting the same message. My carrier is Verizon Wireless and they've told me it's a majic jack issue and most people have confirmed it. What could be done about it? My email address is kwekart @hotmail.com. Thanks. Noah
