Connection To Modem

when I went to hook up magicJack to my modem there was nothing. when I realized I did not plug in the power I plugged it in and still nothing. Thinking I did something wrong and it was 'just registered' to comuter, I plugged it in, still nothing. what do I do? also I can't contact anyone..what's the deal? they have no support line or web page for support and I can't even call to complain. I am very frustrated. Did I do something wrong ..I didn't even get the number they promised sent to my e-mail. please help if you can
