It's difficult to help you if you don't tell us the problem. Your magicJack however may not work properly, or at all [partial list]:

if your magicJack is not running,
if it's not properly secured,
if the phone cord is not secured or is broken,
if you're not connected to the Internet at a sufficiently high speed,
if without a powered USB hub several phones are used to generate power from a USB port,
or if your magicJack device is defective.

You may wish to try these instructions. You can also reset the device, as explained here. Or consider "Running MagicJack as System" as outlined here.

If however the device is defective, you do need to return it. If it's too late to return the device, you can seek a resolution with your credit card company or with the Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services, at 850-488-2221 or 2005 Apalachee Pkwy., Tallahassee, FL 32399.
