Is It Necessary To Have A Tel Service Provider If We Have No Internet

With Magic Jack Plus, do we need a regular tel service provider (ex. Bell Canada or Videotron) or does it work independently

You do not need a (different) phone service provider but you do need a high-speed Internet conncection.
