How To Replace Burner Ignitor For This Maytag Model

I need to replace a range burner ignitor (part #PS2085070) for Maytag range Precision Touch Control 800 (Model #MGS5775BDQ) but have encountered two problems: 1. I haven't figured out how to lift open the range top to access the space inside. From an online video, this needs to be done to connect the electric wire, but the video's method of using a screwdriver to pry open the top does not seem to apply to this model. 2. I also need suggestions on how to replace the screws that secure the burner head. It seems that the high heat from using the range affected the durability of the screws. One broke in two while I tried to unscrew it leaving the far end still in place. The slits on the head of the other screw were damaged when I tried to unscrew. The attempt just ground the screw head leaving a circular hole. How do I remove these screws? Drill them out?
