remnants of another antivirus program are not allowing it to be installed.

1. make sure to remove other AV's first

2. if other AV's are for sure gone, try their respective removal tools.

3. if the above steps have been tried, open command prompt (run as administrator in vista/7) and paste the following command (to paste, right click and select paste)

net pause winmgmt && move %windir%\system32\wbem\Repository %windir%\system32\wbem\Repository.old && net stop winmgmt /y && net start winmgmt && net start wscsvc
