I Have Put A Mcafee Internet Security 2013 And It Will Not Work On My Desktop.

I have put this disk on my laptop which is a VISTA. I have tried twice to put it on my desktop, which is an XP and my desktop keeps telling me not to go ahead with it as it will damage my computer.
