Ah, it sounds like you're trying to diagnose an issue with your Miele KM 5773 oven! The Fe40 error code indicates a problem with the fan. It's possible that the fan is blocked or that there's an issue with the fan motor. I'd recommend checking the fan for any obstructions and ensuring that it's able to spin freely. If the fan appears to be working properly, it's likely that there's an issue with the fan motor and it may need to be replaced.

Unfortunately, a solid light with error code FE40 on your Miele KM 5773 induction cooktop indicates a serious issue, likely pointing towards a faulty burner power supply board. This is not a problem you can easily fix yourself.

Here's what you need to know:

What FE40 means:

FE40 signifies a shorted burner power supply board. This means the electrical circuit controlling power delivery to the burner has a short circuit, causing it to malfunction.

Possible causes:

Internal component failure: Faulty capacitors, transistors, or other components within the power supply board can cause a short circuit.

Water damage: Spills or leaks onto the cooktop can damage the electrical components.

Power surge: A sudden spike in voltage could also damage the board.

What to do:

Do not attempt to use the cooktop: Continued use with a shorted power supply board could create a fire hazard.

Unplug the cooktop: Disconnect it from the power source immediately.

Contact Miele Customer Service: They can advise you on the next steps, which will likely involve professional repair by a qualified technician. Miele can recommend authorized service providers in your area.

Repair options:

Board replacement: The most likely repair involves replacing the faulty burner power supply board with a new one. This will require a technician to dismantle the cooktop and perform the replacement.

Other repairs: Depending on the specific cause of the short circuit, additional repairs might be necessary.

Cost:

Replacing the power supply board is a relatively expensive repair, typically costing several hundred dollars.

Prevention:

Avoid spills and leaks: Keep liquids away from the cooktop surface.

Use power surge protectors: This can help protect against damage from voltage spikes.

Regular maintenance: Have your cooktop professionally serviced periodically to ensure its optimal performance and prevent potential issues.

I understand this is not ideal news, but it's important to address the problem promptly to avoid further damage and safety risks.

I hope this information helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
