Bcp Valve

Problem with this part which is located above the EGR valve. It regulates / filters the gas, is what I've been told. My question is : When it rains and there is the slightest bit of moisture intake, my truck spurts and sputters, and it has left me stranded, sometimes for 20 minutes and has been as long as an hour.  Is there anyone with this year, make and model of this Nissan truck that may be or has in the past experienced the same problem? About a year ago, my brother and I removed this part, took it apart and cleaned and dried the red seal ring on it, let it air good and then placed it back on the truck. Thanks to God an a lot of prayers, it hasn't done this for some time now. Any information or advice in regards to this issue will be appreciated.
