Where Is The Thermostat Located At On The Motor

Thermostat's are always on top of the engine block. Follow the upper radiator hose to where it connects to the top of the engine. The radiator hose should be connected to a small metal thermostat housing. The housing has a neck that the hose clamps on to. The thermostat is under that housing. Usually just connected with two bolts.

Be sure to drain the radiator down to a level below the housing before removing the housing. Wait until the car is cool before doing any work on the thermostat.

The new thermostat may need gasket seal. Have your auto parts store check for you or see if the old thermostat had blue gasket seal around the edge of it.
