Hdmi Input From Pc?
Is there a way of streaming audio from a PC to Onkyo TX-SR308? Preferrably via HDMI! I tried to use an HDMI cable directly from PC to the Onkyo and failed. The Onkyo never showed up on the PC as a connected sound device. I tried to use a 3.5mm to RCA cable and failed. I tried 3.5mm to 3.5mm (to Onkyo's AUX) and failed. Why did I fail? Is there a (not too complicated) way of doing it? THANKS! Notes: I stream audio just fine from cableTV to Onkyo and from DVD player to Onkyo via HDMI cables. The HDMI OUT of the PC works fine with my Sony TV, and the 3.5mm OUT of the PC and the AUX IN of the Onkyo also work fine with other devices. I can't stream audio from the Sony TV to the Onkyo either, because the Sony TV doesn't have an HDMI OUT, and the Onkyo doesn't have an optical IN.
