Power Button Cycling On And Off.

While the unit is plugged in, the power button is going from "red" to "green", back to "red" and then completely off.  It repeats this cycle over and over until the unit is unplugged from main power.  There is a DVD stuck in it, down in the play mode.  There is a clicking coming from the main power board, a rectangular box that has 12 VDC and 120 VAC.  I'm guessing it is some type of transformer.  Any ideas on how to fix?
