REMOVAL PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the right front diagonal brace.
- Move the underhood electrical out of the way. Refer to XXXXX or Junction Block Replacement.
- Reposition the positive battery cable terminal cover.
- Loosen the positive battery terminal nut.
- Remove the positive battery terminal (2) from the battery.
- Remove the battery retainer bolts (1) and retainer (2).
- Remove the battery.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during installation.
Install the battery.
- Install the battery retainer (2) and bolts (1). Tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (13 lb ft) . NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
- Install the positive battery terminal (2) to the battery.
- Tighten the positive battery terminal nut. Tighten the nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft) .
- Position the positive battery cable terminal cover.
- Re-position and install the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement.
- Install the right front diagonal brace.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
