I Converted Quicken 03 To 04 As Advised. I Then Was Told To Convert 04 To 09, W

which I did. I then converted 09 from my desktop to my USB and then loaded that onto my laptop. I updated to 12 and have been unable to get to my files. All Quicken wants me to do is sign up for a fancier edition which I have no use or interest in. All I want to do is get my financial history transferred over to keep a running record. Any clues??? Oh, by the way, my desktop has Windows XP and my laptop that I am transferring to is Windows 7. Could this be the problem?
