How Do You Pull Up The Menu On The Rca Th1814-a?

it says in the manual that you turn player on push power menu button which is also the play pause button song will be put on pause then you use the volume up and down to select from the menu but all that happens is the song gets paused and you turn up and down the volume while paused or song un pauses its self and then the volume really goes up watch your ears.
