Dark Lines
When photocopying documents we have dark lines accross the top and bottom of the page, how do we get rid of these

Do the lines only appear when copying (ie., not when printing or receiving faxes)? If so, the lines are coming from your optical section. Try cleaning the slit glass (the strip of glass to the left of the main glass). If the lines do not go away, they are most likely caused by a dirty mirror and the optical mirrors will need to be cleaned off.
If the lines appear when printing as well as copying, the problem is probably a dirty charge roller in the black drum unit. The charge roller can be cleaned, but the easiest way to correct this problem is to replace the black drum unit.
