Tripod Socket Mount Stripped!
The tripod socket mount of my Samsung NX1 became stripped. I have tried to fix it with a repair kit, with 1/4"-20 coil to insert after rethreaded the hole. I have been no lucky. I have asked a repair company in another country they have asked me for 200$ plus return shipping (and maybe re-import tax). I asked them for the part number and they don't know it, they call it a tripod socket, and they say that their supplier can only supply that part to them, not to individuals. Now I am trying to find a spare part. Maybe there is an alternative tripod socket from other camera model that I can use it (some are selling in eBay and very cheap). I have checked on iFixit, where there are several repair guides about NX1, but any of those pictures show the socket. Could you help me?

To remove the tripod bolt, I suggest just trying to cock it sideways enough to hopefully put enough pressure on the mounting socket to hold it still enough while you unscrew the mounting bolt with vise grips, or , better, use that trick with the two nuts tightened against each other someone else mentioned. I'd also try to at least put some thumb-pressure on the side of the bottom plate where the tripod mounting might otherwise want to bend upward.
If that fails, you might just want to hacksaw that off till you can get proper repairs or tools.
