The Sennheiser HMEC 26 headset has a detachable cable that terminates in an XLR-5 connector. If your cable was cut and there is no continuity in the connector, you will need to re-solder the cables to the XLR-5 connector.

Here is a general guide for soldering the wires to an XLR-5 connector:

  1. Remove the outer jacket of the cable to expose the individual wires. There should be five wires: red, green, blue, white, and shield.
  2. Strip about 1/4 inch of insulation from each wire using a wire stripper.
  3. Take note of the pinout of the XLR-5 connector. The pins are numbered 1 through 5, starting with the top pin and going clockwise.
  4. Solder the wires to the appropriate pins on the XLR-5 connector according to the pinout. Typically, the red wire goes to pin 1, the green wire goes to pin 2, the blue wire goes to pin 3, the white wire goes to pin 4, and the shield wire goes to pin 5.
  5. Use heat shrink tubing or electrical tape to insulate each wire and prevent them from touching each other.
  6. Reassemble the XLR-5 connector and test the cable for continuity and proper functioning.

It's important to note that this is a general guide, and the specific pinout and wiring scheme may vary depending on the manufacturer or model. Be sure to consult the user manual or contact Sennheiser customer support for more information on the correct pinout and wiring scheme for your specific headset model.
