re eddiebecker2 answer - I like this, so do I need to attach anything to other end of elbow to stop water coming out, or should I attach a 1/2" pex with ball valve shut-off.

Easy to break this flimsy plastic drain nozzle part, especially if you have it running on a long tube to a floor drain. Instead of replacing the much larger and expensive drain pan which is a big disassembly hassle. I just inserted a 1/2" brass pex elbow into the broken hole after I got it hot enough on a flame to melt into the broken plastic opening. I then epoxied it watertight and solid. Your could probably substitute a plastic pex fitting for the brass, but you would have to drill out the hole to make the fit. Don't drill to far because there's a plastic post just inside the opening.
