Sharp Lc-42sb48ut Tv Won't Turn On.
I posted earlier about a Sharp LC-42SB48UT TV that will just keep blinking the green power light. I wasn't sure how to add to the question, so I'm starting a new one. Since this TV doesn't have a way to do a backlight reset, that's one less troubleshooting method off the list.
On plugging in the tv, the power indicator turns a solid red. When you press the power button, the power light turns blue and it makes a brief chirp, then the power light begins cycling off and on. There is no blink of light from the backlight. It will continue cycling for as long as you let it (at least 45 minutes)
I have yet to look at the board for burst capacitors, and to test the voltage output from various components. but before I do that I'd like to have as good of an idea of what to look for as possible. Any clue what the blinking light means? And might there be a way to test the inverter board on its own? I have the Sharp Service Manual, but I have yet to read all of it for that kind of info.
