Clock Stops When Turned Off
I have had three different XE-A42S registers do the same thing. When the register is on, the time is kept just fine. When it is turned off, however, the clock will stop--does not reset--1-2 hours afterwards. The rest of the data is unaffected.
Here is where I get confused: the first two registers seem to have fixed themselves. The third one is in a completely different location, yet it's doing exactly what the first two did.
I've talked to Sharp about this and all they'll tell me to do is keep them plugged in.
It's not convenient for me to re-initialize and reprogram them, and I'm not quite ready to upgrade or replace all of them after 2-3 years.
I can't find anything about this kind of problem at all, so I'm asking here.

Wow. I've never had that with any Sharp registers. Maybe you have found a bug. The only reason they would normally have any issues with date or time is if the batteries are low. Normally the machine will indicate when the battery voltage becomes critical. all I can suggest is to try new batteries anyway and see what happens (Always leave power ON in REG mode while changing the batteries or your data may be lost)
