C4 Error When Making Buttonholes, Only Along Right Side
I keep getting the C4 error about 3/4 of the way through sewing a buttonhole, during the down stroke of the right-most stitch. I've tried switching between the narrower and wider options (settings 95 and 94, respectively), to no avail. It feels like a mechanical error: the needle will only push through the fabric if I apply slight, leftward, transverse pressure to the needle clamp with my finger (while I am manually turning the hand wheel, making the process take a very loooong time). Otherwise, the needle clunks into metal, not sure if it's at the plate or farther below. I've tried cleaning out the area around the bobbin, changing the needle... what am I missing? Is this fixable?
