How Can I Get My Sound To Work Correctly On Skype?

The sound on my computer works fine and I've never had an issue with it. When I first got SKYPE, the sound worked fine on it too, but after I used it a few times, it has stopped working. I have checked all the settings and everything seems to be fine. Help! I really want to be able to use SKYPE, but the sound will not work on it.
