How To Get Windows 7 Home Premium Working With Skype Program?

Skype (no matter what version) knocks out my HP MediaSmart Webcam all the time. I have to uninstall and reinstall my HP mediaSmart webcam once I'm on Skype for 2 minutes. Two HP techs said - it's a Skype issue... I have the latest drivers for my HP mediasmart webcam. It works fine - but with Skype - it blows me out of the water. Any advice would be appreciated.. Thank you kindly, Angie
