Screen Display Locked While Selecting I-player

I've attempted to select a programme via I-Player but the screen display has locked, frozen. It shows a summary of the programme I've chosen. I can switch the TV on and off but I can't unlock this display. The TV won't now work at all. We've had the TV for just over four years. Internet, etc, is working OK. How can I sort this out, please?
