Yes, it relates to volume control during stopping. You can purchase an interface module from your Sony dealer that will translate the speed of the vehicle to a digital signal that is used to vary the volume when stopping or breaking.
Also referred to as "Adaptive Volume" it adjusts the volume level according to your car speed, typically in 4 (off/low/mid/high) settings, for both navigation and AV sound. This varies between manufacturers. JVC in particular uses the 4 tier volume approach.
